Welcome
If there is anything inevitable about owning a home in the Texas Panhandle it's that sooner or later you will be faced with repair or replacement of your roof. And let's face it, there are some things you simply shouldn't cut corners on. You remember your roof, don't you? That thing on the top of your house protecting everything you own from the next round of severe weather? There are certainly many more exciting ways to spend money on your home...a big screen TV, a state-of-the-art computer, designer furniture, new carpet, redecorating...but what happens when the part of your house that keeps all that warm and dry needs attention?
Who can you trust?
How about beginning your search for a reputable roofer with an association of professionals in the industry who have joined together to ensure that you are not taken advantage of in a bad situation. The Texas Panhandle Roofing Contractors Association (TPRCA) was founded to protect consumers against fraud and to educate them about liability and acceptable standards of workmanship. Our members are distinguished by their commitment to ethical business practices and quality craftsmanship that they will stand behind.
Why is this important?
Major storms in our area represent a windfall to less than reputable contractors hoping to make fast money. Demand for service following a storm far exceeds supply, placing these people in a very enviable position. In addition, contractors from all over the country descend on the marketplace offering unbelievable low process - but not much more - for their services.
TPRCA is all for healthy competition in the marketplace. What we take issue with are contractors who aren't licensed, who haven't paid and don't even bother to carry their liability or workman's compensation insurance and/or who lack the skill to build a roof that will pass inspection (and who won't be around to fix things once you've discovered this). Our mission is to protect you, the consumer, from fraud.
